What We Do
Denver Cold Storage, Inc. is a third-party logistics warehouse providing logistics and supply chain services including frozen, refrigerated, and ambient warehouse storage, order picking, blast freezing, rail service, specialty projects, and more. We also offer temperature-controlled freight distribution throughout the country with our trucking division, Denver Logistics, LLC.
How We Do It
We believe that our greatest asset is our employees and that investing in them yields superior service for our customers. Our investment in our team enables them to continually improve and become the best at what they do. We currently operate with a collective 135 employees across our two companies. Denver Cold Storage has three strategically configured warehouses that enable us to provide specialty services, such as blast freezing, cross docking, and specialized customer-tailored projects. Denver Logistics has a fleet of 35 temperature-controlled trucks and trailers, empowering us to deliver efficient distribution solutions for customers.
Our Purpose
Denver Cold Storage exists to provide superior service and support to three main beneficiaries:

President & CEO
Dave’s vision for Denver Cold Storage and Denver Logistics is the heart of our operations. His 30 years of experience in the supply chain industry has been built from the ground up. Beginning with his initial days working in the warehouse, to the first truck purchase of the fleet, his commitment to servicing our customers has been the forefront of everything we do here. Customer Service and Employee engagement are Dave’s obsession. When Dave isn’t manning the helm, he enjoys traveling, the beach, and spending time with his family.

Andrea Bird
Safety & Compliance Manager
Andrea joined the team in 2020 and brings over 20 years of supply chain and logistics experience. Her vast expertise in the supply chain industry allows her to excel at managing the day-to- day safety & compliance initiatives for Denver Cold Storage & Denver Logistics. One of Andrea’s favorite aspects of her role is the opportunity she gets to research and implement the most effective policies and procedures. Providing and maintaining superior safety & compliance standards is of utmost importance to her, and she takes pride in ensuring that every department is running safely and effectively. In her free time, Andrea enjoys spending time with friends, family, and her cats, volunteering, and traveling.
Dustin Fisher
Director of Finance
Dustin joined the team part-time in 2014 and gained experience in various departments before coming on full-time in 2020. He is passionate about community involvement and support, as well as helping to provide company vision. Dustin enjoys strategic planning and using financial analytics to help make informed decisions. He appreciates the opportunity he has to get involved in diverse business functions at Denver Cold Storage and Denver Logistics. Outside of work, Dustin enjoys spending time with family/friends, trying new restaurants/cafes, and spending time at the beach.
Ed Hansen
Director of Human Resource & Culture
Ed has over 17 years of experience working in multiple departments at Denver Cold Storage and Denver Logistics, from warehouse to truck driver. The supply chain experience Ed has accumulated over the years, coupled with his wealth of Human Resources and Safety knowledge, allows him to excel in his current role. Ed loves working with people, creating relationships, and fostering employee growth and advancement. He is driven by the opportunity to maintain and improve a culture that builds employee and community relationships beyond just getting the work done. Ed’s hobbies include playing disc golf, basketball, volleyball, and the guitar.
Dave Heller
Director of Warehouse Operations
Dave’s 19+ years of experience here at DCS has afforded him a thorough knowledge of warehouse operations. Dave believes that when his department runs like a clean, organized machine that his employees feel valued and fulfilled and the customer reaps the benefits. In his leisure time Dave enjoys playing with his daughter, taking walks with his wife, and traveling.
Tom Oberholtzer
Warehouse Manager - WH 2/3
Tom joined the DCS team in 2019 with an abundance of management expertise and supply chain experience. He provides the leadership and direction necessary to effectively manage the day-to-day operation at our fast-paced Washington Street complex. Tom enjoys working directly with supervisors and their teams to help them manage inbound/outbound truck flow, order picking, space management, and inventory control. He credits his team for giving him a thorough understanding of the day-to-day warehouse operations. Tom’s favorite part about his role is identifying and developing talented individuals and watching them grow into leadership positions. In his free time, Tom enjoys spending time with his family, playing guitar, watching live music, and watching sports.
Ryan Rhoades
Warehouse Manager - WH 1
Ryan has been a part of the DCS warehouse team for 10 years and has mastered the ins and outs of our warehouse operations. As a warehouse manager, his top priority is providing leadership and support for his team. He enjoys helping his team complete daily tasks and facilitating the overall day-to-day operations at our Sandy Hill Rd warehouse. Ryan’s favorite part of his job is the diverse scope of duties he manages and the fact that he is almost always performing multiple tasks at once. In his free time, he enjoys dirt track racing, competitive flag football, camping, and adventures with his wife and kids.
Roman Rybaltouski
Director of Maintenance Operations
Roman has been working with the DCS maintenance team for over 10 years, and has accumulated a wealth of maintenance experience in that time. Roman enjoys problem solving and facing the challenges of working in maintenance, and prides himself on proactivity and a fast reaction time to any problems that arise. When not in the office, Roman relaxes by playing soccer, mountain biking, and spending time with his family.
Terry Smythe
Vice President of Transportation
In Terry’s 18+ years with Denver Cold Storage and Denver Logistics, he has experienced the supply chain from both the warehousing and the transportation roles. Terry believes his department’s greatest contribution to the supply chain is ensuring the timely pickup and delivery of our customer’s product as well as the safe transportation of that product to its final destination. When he’s not in the office, Terry enjoys spending time with his family and friends.
Robert Wertz
Fleet Maintenance Manager
Bobby brings 18 years of fleet maintenance experience to Denver Logistics. His passion is the thorough care and preventative maintenance of the equipment on which we depend to deliver on our commitments. In his free time Bobby enjoys boating, fishing, ATVs, and spending time with his family.
Gail Yoder
Director of Operations & Customer Relations
Gail has been with DCS for 20 years and has lent her expertise in multiple areas of the company. Gail particularly enjoys the way her department works directly with our customers to aid them in discovering the optimal solution to whatever challenge they are facing. When Gail is not in the office, she enjoys traveling, sports, and family time.
